At Martin Luther School – Plymouth, we believe every child is bright, curious, and full of potential. Our comprehensive educational program for students with autism in grades K–5 builds on each child’s individual strengths, interests, and skills to nurture learning, connection, and growth.

Our Martin Luther School-Plymouth campus provides an educational setting where students with autism are both challenged and understood.
Grounded in a developmental, relationship-based framework, our dedicated faculty and staff understand behavior as communication and support each student’s academic, social, and emotional growth. Through individualized instruction and meaningful connections, students build confidence, develop self-regulation skills, and discover new possibilities in a safe, nurturing environment.
At MLS-Plymouth, our collaborative team works together to understand each child’s unique strengths and needs. Through play, movement, shared interests, and engaging academic experiences, students strengthen their ability to connect with others, solve problems, and grow in independence. Support is individualized and rooted in joy, curiosity, and authentic engagement.

Instruction builds upon each student’s interests and abilities and strives to help them achieve the goals outlined in their Individualized Education Program (IEP). Students are encouraged to explore ideas, communicate, problem-solve, and participate actively in learning.

Purposeful play, movement, creative expression, and discovery are woven into the school experience. Students have opportunities to uncover their talents, build confidence, and find joy in learning
An Individualized Educational Experience
Our program is holistic and includes:
- A collaborative team supporting each student, with teachers, speech-language specialists, and occupational therapists
- Individualized, relationship-based instruction building on each student’s strengths, interests, and developmental capacities

A Typical Day at MLS – Plymouth
A typical day begins with a morning meeting that helps students connect, build relationships, and develop a sense of community. Students then participate in academic instruction, small-group learning, and integrated support tailored to their strengths, interests, and developmental needs.
The day may also include the Social Emotional Learning Lab, outdoor education, art, music, and physical education. Opportunities for movement and sensory regulation are woven throughout the day, supporting each student’s ability to feel regulated, engage with others, and participate meaningfully in learning.
